A new peak concurrent user record was set Sunday, Dec 3rd when 32,955 users were logged into EVE Online: Revelations. This would not be that significant if not for the outstanding performance the Tranquility server demonstrated under this enormous load.

ccording to preliminary log analysis the server cluster was at 47% capacity - A clear indication that the new Revelation expansion along with the accompanying hardware upgrades has brought the cluster to a new level.

In plain English, more people were logged into EVE's persistent gameworld than have ever been logged into a single gameworld. Each night, World of Warcraft has more total users log in to a variety of servers, but these 30,000 users were all logged in to the the same server (or shard).

The Western shard for EVE Online (Europeans and Americans play on it) has had upwards of 25k users logged in simultaneously.

So If you want to start playing EVE, now would be the time!
